A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Caldwell.

He was born to parents, Thomas F. Royal, Sr. and Frances Darlene Royal in Mission, Texas.

Johnny was the fourth of six children.

He graduated high school in Caldwell and went to work in the oilfield where he was severely burned in 1984.

He was a member of Macedonia-Hix Baptist church where he remained a member.

Johnny went on to get a Computer Grafting degree at TSTI in Waco and owned a framing business in Dallas and College Station.

He attended Texas A&M for studies in Physics which was a true passion.

In 2004, Johnny married the love of his life, Charlotte Simmons.

He later moved to Louisiana to be closer to her family where they raised her two nieces, Amber and Kayla.

He remained in Louisiana until his death.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Irene Royal; mother, Frances Darlene Royal; and nephew, Adam Brantley Royal.

He is survived by his father, Thomas F., Sr. and stepmother, Connie Harden Royal of Caldwell, Texas; brothers, Thomas F., Jr. and wife, Kay Royal of Wilmington, North Carolina, Ronald L. and wife, Vonnie, of Dime Box, Texas, Donald L., Sr. and wife, Louise Royal, of Caldwell, Texas, Lonnie J. and wife, Chris, of Arlington, Texas; and sister, Connie A. and husband, Bill Sargent, of Caldwell, Texas; nephews, Mike Royal, Donald R. Royal, Jr., Scott Royal, Nick Royal, Cody Blum and Jordan Blum; nieces, Cynthia Royal, Crystal Royal, Rebecca Royal, Amber Pittman and Kayla Powers.
